Join us on Monday evenings, every other month:

“We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is good, because it is good; if bad, because it works in us patience, humility, contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country.

- C.S. Lewis

Habits form character. At Renewal Church, we begin our leadership meetings with a time of thanksgiving. This practice helps us to rewind each month and look for how God has been moving in our lives and in the lives of those around us. Developing a culture of gratitude gives us greater joy and helps brothers and sisters at Renewal church discover the areas where God is already at work.

The purpose of Story and Prayer nights is to provide an opportunity for brothers and sisters in the congregation to celebrate how God is at work in their lives and in the lives of others, to develop habits of thanksgiving, to discover the missional heart of God, and to pray together. It is our hope that thanksgiving and prayer forms the DNA of Renewal Church, and that brothers and sisters commit to daily habits of spiritual disciplines including, but not limited to prayer (silent and petition) and reading of His Word.

At each Story and Prayer night, we will spend time in these two areas:

  • Come prepared to Story and Prayer nights with stories of how God has been at work in your life (in powerful or in seemingly unremarkable ways) and in the lives of those around you. These can be stories of meeting neighbours, developing deeper relationships, spiritual dialogue, provision, inner transformation, reconciliation, deeper intimacy with God etc.

  • Come prepared with insights gleaned through your time in prayer, silence, study or devotional reading of Scripture.

  • There will be an emphasis on guarding our prayer time where we will pray together in smaller groups of 3-4 people. Within each group, individuals will be able to share personal prayer requests before praying together for the remainder of the time.
